I'd like to start by saying I'm not one who typically posts reviews. Nor was I asked to do so as is often the case. For me, this called for a review.I recently had an experience where I had an activation of the Tank Alert alarm for my septic system. Needless to say I immediately envisioned horrific things coming my way if you know what I mean. That said, I have the system cleaned and serviced regularly, I've never had a septic problem nor have I ever experienced an activation of my septic system alarm.Although I wasn't a current Kratzer Septic Service customer, I called based upon the recommendation of two friends who are in the Well drilling and plumbing business. I called Kratzer and spoke with Becky. Becky was aware that I wasn't a past or current customer and stated that they were totally booked. She proceeded to say that regardless of me not being a customer, she didn't want to see anyone in that situation and would do all she could to move some appointments and get someone to my home as soon as possible. After just a few minutes she called back and said she would have a technician to my home in an hour! It got even more impressive from there. Technician Brian responded shortly thereafter and proceeded to check all the septic breakers, the three septic alarm systems as well as my four separate tanks (large home, large system). Soon thereafter, he ultimately diagnosed the problem and began to make the repairs.During the course of those repairs, I suggested replacing one of the tank pumps (given that the age of the pump was unknown) as well as a upgrading to a larger aerator in another tank. Brian said they were functioning as needed and would merely be unnecessary expenses. The fact that he didn't take advantage to "up-sell" me on was appreciated. He then proceeded to clean and service my entire system, make the necessary repairs and re-set and double check the breakers and alarms located in my basement. Lastly, he gave me a rundown on my system and educated me on what to do in the event I encounter another "septic emergency".I cannot say enough good things about Becky and Brian and how they stepped up to the plate for a non-customer. I later spoke with the friends who recommended Kratzer and they weren't surprised at all. They said it's a family business that's "been around forever" with a reputation for quality service. I'm now a Kratzer customer and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
